The interesting thing about games is that they have a way of simplifying what would otherwise be complicated and even burdensome concepts into an easy-to-track and easy-to-live-with formula. That’s how you can tell you are playing a game that is going to be successful and a game that for all its charms and advantages is probably not going anywhere.

Game designers know this, and this is why a lot of games are “dumped down.” That’s just a term because when you look at the inner workings of the game, they’re actually quite sophisticated and complicated, but you wouldn’t tell by the gameplay.

Keep this in when it comes to becoming some sort of diet expert. Weight loss is actually quite simple and highly complicated at the same time. If you were to break down all the operations that go into weight loss, it can actually be reduced into a simple formula. Seriously. All that sacrifice, all that hassle, all that emotional rollercoaster rides, they can be reduced to a simple formula. A lot of people can’t wrap their minds around this because it seems simplistic. In fact, it seems downright dismissive, but this is absolutely true.

If you want to lose weight, you need to focus on two things. You need to reduce the amount of calories you take in every day. In other words, you need to watch what you eat. As much as possible, you need to eat food that don’t pack too many calories. That’s the incoming portion.

The outgoing portion, of course, involves your daily activities. if you just sit around all day playing video games and down one can of soda after another, don’t be surprised if you get fat. If you, on the other hand, walk around a lot or go the gym to pump some iron, you can lose weight.

It really boils down to this. The amount of calories you take in must be outweighed or exceeded by the amount of calories you burn every single day. Again, this does not necessarily involve you going to the gym. You can burn calories like you normally do, but you have to adjust the amount of calories you eat. Do you see how this works?

The folks at simplify matters along these lines. They’re a great job because if you are serious about losing weight, it has to feel simple to you. It must not feel like some sort of ordeal. You must not be led to believe that it’s some sort of punishment you are inflicting on yourself. You have to understand that your attitude towards any kind of activity plays a big role in whether you’re going to be successful with that activity or not. The great thing about is that simplify things to such a degree that you feel comfortable. You feel hopeful. You feel that this is all possible. That’s quite an accomplishment.

It’s not much different taking all the otherwise chaotic and complicated and convoluted decision patterns of your typical online game and reducing gameplay into such a simplistic range of motions that it successfully hides all that complexity. The game will still go bust and deep and insightful, but it’s also easy to play.

So, keep this in mind if you want to be a true diet expert. You cannot bombard people with all this weight-loss scientific information and expect them to make heads or tails with that information. That’s probably going to overwhelm them. It’s probably going to seem so complicated and so overwhelming that they fail.

Do yourself a big favor. If you truly want to become a diet expert, you need to make it look like a child’s game. Thankfully, it can be. It really all boils down to presentation.
